State Senators worked Tuesday on a giant public safety package. Senator Tony Luetkemeyer of northwest Missouri’s Parkville is carrying the House bill. It includes provisions about a ban on police chokeholds, violence against hospital workers, and criminalizes those who post personal information about law enforcement officers or their families.

The legislation would also require stimulus checks to prisoners to first be used to pay restitution to their victims. The Senate ended up pulling the bill from debate, but the measure could make a return.
