Missouri Senators to Discuss Property Tax Freeze for Some

(Missourinet) Missouri senators are set to get back to business today (Tuesday) after having Presidents Day off.  Congressional redistricting continues to be a contentious issue but there are other topics like property taxes.  Over the past few years, this has become an item of growing concern for most Missouri senators have been increasingly talking about it in recent years.

Senator Tony Luetkemeyer of Parkville says if approved, Senate Joint Resolution 39 would allow the growth in assessed values to be limited by the law.

Another measure is Senate Joint Resolution 41, sponsored by Senator Steven Roberts of St. Louis. He says freeze property tax assessments for senior citizens.

Both measures await action from the entire Missouri Senate.
