Missouri State Highway Patrol Releases July 4th Holiday Counting Period Report

JEFFERON CITY, MO – Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol worked 285 traffic crashes and 11 boating accidents statewide over the holiday counting period from 6 p.m. Friday through 11:50 p.m. Monday.

One hundred seven people were injured and six people died in the traffic crashes. Eleven additional people were injured in boating accident with zero boating fatalities and one drowning.

Troopers also made 141 DWI arrests, 13 BWI and 100 drug arrests over the holiday weekend.

The drowning incident was on the Meramec River after an Illinois man jumped off a bluff and did not resurface.

In 2021, seven people were killed statewide and 532 injured in traffic crashes over the July 4th holiday counting period.
