Missouri Supreme Court Says Effort to Block Controversial Gun Law Can Continue

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (Missourinet) The Missouri Supreme Court has ruled that an effort to block a controversial gun law can continue.

In a 6-1 decision, the high court has given St. Louis, St. Louis County and Jackson County the green light to move forward with their court case about the Second Amendment Preservation Act. They are challenging the constitutionality of the 2021 state law, which aims to invalidate federal guns laws and penalize law enforcement if they enforce those regulations. The ruling reverses a lower court’s judgement and sends the case back to Cole County Circuit Court for another decision. Supreme Court Judge Zel Fischer was the opposing view in the court’s ruling.
