Missouri Supreme Court to Hear Missouri Medicaid Expansion Lawsuit Case Today

The Missouri Supreme Court will hear oral arguments today (Tuesday) in one of the biggest cases the court has faced in recent memory: Missouri’s Medicaid expansion lawsuit.

The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments at 11 this morning in Jefferson City. Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem ruled in late June that Missouri’s August Medicaid expansion ballot measure was unconstitutional because it did not contain a funding mechanism. Attorneys for three low-income women suing the state have appealed to the Missouri Supreme Court. It’s a high-profile case that impacts about 275,000 potential new Medicaid recipients.
