Some Missouri communities are picking up the pieces today after tornadoes and flash flooding rolled through parts of the state over the weekend.
An EF-2 tornado hit Knox County in northeast Missouri and EF-0 tornadoes struck Ray and Saline Counties, in western Missouri. The Kirksville area in northeast Missouri had substantial flooding.
Mike O’Connell, with the Missouri Department of Public Safety, says in a precautionary move, the governor has activated the state’s emergency operations plan.
The plan also allows the governor to waive certain state restrictions on things like trucking and weight limits on roads.
