Missouri Western Settles Sexual Harassment Case

(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – A former Missouri Western State University student who alleged sexual harassment, settled an almost two-year-old case out of court.

She filed a complaint in 2021 for the University not properly handling the allegations legally that she had made.

The allegations were made against a professor no longer employed by Missouri Western.

Title IX of the U.S. Code states the university is supposed to investigate when a student makes an allegation of sexual misconduct by someone on their campus.

The settlement agreement is not public record, but a notice filed Wednesday through the Buchanan County Circuit Court stated that Paige Griffee the Plaintiff, and the University had settled.
