Missouri Western State University’s Tuition Is Increasing

(ST JOSEPH, MO) – Missouri Western State University announced in a news release, that their students will be facing an increase to the cost of their tuition beginning with summer classes. The Board of Governors voted to raise the tuition by $18 more per credit hour, which is a 7.5% increase. The 2023 cost per credit hour for an “in-state” student was $240, which will increase to $258.  Also through the budget, every employee will receive a one percent pay raise. The University stated that its $76 million Fiscal Year 2024 Budget is balanced. The budget goes into effect from July 1st through June 30th, 2024. In the University’s news release, President Elizabeth Kennedy expressed that the Board of Governors are remaining committed to their four-year compensation plan, which was approved last year to bring wages in line with the job market.
