Missouri WIC Benefits Extended

(Missourinet) Missouri WIC participants are getting a temporary benefit for a little longer.

Missouri’s Women Infants and Children program is extending the temporary increase of the Cash Value Benefit for buying fruit and vegetable for January, February and March of next year.  The increase is the same amount as the current $24 per month for child participants, $43 per month for pregnant and postpartum women and $47 per month for breastfeeding women.

Last week, President Biden signed into law the Further Extending Government Funding Act of 2022 into law giving the USDA power to extend the temporary increase.  The extension in Missouri will reportedly provide healthy fruits and vegetables for up to 60,000 women and children per month.
