Missourians Reminded To Conduct Safety Checks Before Taking Their Boat Out

(MISSOURINET) – With the weather warming up and peak boating season approaching, Missourians are reminded to make sure their boats are safe before going out on the water. Boats can develop safety issues following a winter of inactivity. Macon County Conservation Agent Jared Kelly explains what to look for on the boat’s exterior.

Kelly says there are a few more things to check when it comes to the interior.

Boaters are also reminded to have proper safety gear onboard including a working horn or whistle, a fire extinguisher and life jackets.
