Missouri’s Antlerless Deer Harvest Similar To Last Year
The Missouri Department of Conservation says the Antlerless Deer Hunting Season in Missouri had very similar results to last year.
Preliminary figures showed the harvest total in Missouri at 14,896 deer for the season that ended Sunday. Last year, hunters harvested 15,620. This year’s antlerless season was extended from 3 days to 9 days this year. While the season’s harvest was down slightly from last year, the harvest number nearly doubled the 8,000 harvest number averaged in the Antlerless Season in the years prior to last year. Last year, the antlerless season also included great hunting conditions.
The top harvest county in the state was Callaway County with a harvest of 467.
Harrison County reported a deer harvest of 194. Daviess County reported 186. Mercer County had 155 deer harvested. Grundy County reported 128 deer. Gentry County had 94 deer. Worth County reported 57 deer. Clinton County had 42 deer. Caldwell County reported 84 deer. Dekalb County had 55 deer. Livingston County reported 127 deer.
Archery deer season continues through January 15th. The alternative methods portion runs Dec. 25th through January 4th.
