Missouri’s health director believes the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective, and says 90 percent of people who get it will have NO side effects.

State health director Dr. Randall Williams says less than ten percent will have mild side effects, more likely to occur after the second vaccine. He says those side effects usually go away in a day.

Dr. Williams says one percent “will have a little bit of a chill.” Pending FDA approval, Missouri could receive its first shipment of 105-thousand doses of the Moderna vaccine next week.
