MO Attorney General Joins Call For Action To Fix Nuclear Waste In STL

(Missourinet) Another prominent Missouri voice wants federal attention for nuclear waste sites in St. Louis

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is asking for a hearing in Washington D.C. to address radioactive contamination and steps to correct the problem caused by waste from the WWII atomic bomb research. It affects Coldwater Creek and the nearby West Lake Landfill.

He asks that the federal government take responsibility for the contamination and echoes Missouri U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley in wanting compensation for those he call “victims of government caused nuclear contamination and negligence.”

Hawley has legislation to that effect which is supported by president Joe Biden.
