MO Children’s Division Head Wants to do More Prevention Work to Keep Families Together

(MISSOURINET) –  The federal government’s Family First Prevention Services Act provides aid to states to help children remain safely in their homes. Missouri Children’s Division director Darrell Missey, who was a judge for 19 years, says doing prevention work will help families. He says kids have PTSD at very high rates after being removed from their home.

Missey says the current system used is driven by fear and instead should be about helping families safely remain together.
