Mo-Dot Announces Meetings On 30+ Bridge Projects
The Missouri Deportment of Transportation today announced a series of meetings next moth to discuss a major project that could replace or repair more than 30 bridges across the region.
Mo-Dot is planning to replace or rehabilitate up to 34 poor-condition bridges in north central Missouri, bringing them up to current standards.
The project, known as the Northwest Bridge Bundle, will deal mostly with bridges are on low-volume roads with less than 400 vehicles per day, though some carry a much higher traffic load. These are bridges that connect rural communities and their citizens. Mo-Dot says the bridges have been in place, on average, for 71 years.
Mo-Dot has scheduled four open-house style meetings to identify the 34 bridges currently being proposed for inclusion in the project, anticipated construction and traffic impacts at each bridge, and a broad overview of the planned schedule.
The meetings will be held each Tuesday in March from 4 to 6 P.M. On March 7 the meeting will be at Keytesville High School. On March 14th the host will be Chillicothe High School. The March 21st meeting will be at Milan High School and the final meeting on March 28th will be at the Putnam County High School.
The open house format allows the public to come at any time during the advertised hours, gather information about the project, speak one-on-one with project personnel, ask questions, and leave comments.
The information provided at each meeting will be the same, so attendees may choose the date and location most convenient for them:

The Northwest Bridge Bundle project will be built using the design-build delivery method which includes hiring one contracting team to complete the design work and build the highway improvement under one contract.
