Mo-Dot Extends Public Comment Period On Holt County Bridge Project

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced they have extended the public comment period regarding the bridge replacement project planned for Route B at Hickory Creek in Holt County.

Mo-Dot says the project would replace the 83-year-old timber pile bridge which is in poor condition. That project is currently in the planning stages.

As part of the project, the grade of the bridge will be raised and roadway near the bridge will be corrected to provide for better sight distance. In order to make these improvements, provide safe slopes, and maintain a utility corridor, additional right of way will be required, including a 0.40-acre section from the Nodaway Valley Conservation Area (Conservation Commission of Missouri). MoDOT will begin outreach to affected property owners soon.

This project is currently scheduled to go out for contractor bids as part of Mo-Dot’s February 2023 letting with construction expected during the 2023 construction season.

Anyone wishing to comment on the project now has until Friday, August 26 to do so.
