Mo House Approves 5 Violent Crime Measure From Special Session
The Missouri House passed 5 components of an omnibus piece of legislation dealing with violent crime that was initially proposed early in the Governor’s Special Session. That initial bill was rejected and broken up so that components of the bill could be dealt with individually. Missouri 2nd District Representative J Eggleston says one component dealt with witness protection.
House Bill 66 creates a Pre-Trial Witness Services Fund. House Bill 46 waives the residency requirement for St Louis Police Officers to within the city limits.
There was no action to lower the age for an individual to be charged as an adult for certain violent crimes. There was also no action taken on the measure to allow the Attorney General’s office to aid the City of St Louis to prosecute murder cases.
