MO Senate Leader Says Negotiations on Congressional Redistricting “Very Unlikely”

(MISSOURINET) –  Missouri House Democratic Leader Crystal Quade of Springfield says she does not think lawmakers will pass a Congressional redistricting proposal by the ends of this session.

The Legislature has been at odds all session on how many Republican strongholds and Democratic ones there should be among the eight districts.

Missouri Senate Republican Leader Caleb Rowden was asked how likely negotiations are at this point between the House and Senate.

If the Legislature fails to pass a redistricting plan by May 13, the courts could end up making the decisions.
