MoDOT Announces Scheduled Bridge Construction

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced two scheduled bridge closures planned in Gentry and Worth Counties.

The Gentry County Route T bridge over Fitzgerald Creek, west of McFall, will close Monday, July 10th for construction. The bridge will remain closed through mid-November. There will not be a posted detour for the project. The Fitzgerald Creek bridge averages about 100 vehicles per day.

In Worth County, the Route A bridge over Branch, north of Missouri Route 45, west of Grant City, will close Monday, July 10th. That closure will also not have posted detour and will be in effect until mid-November. It’s traffic volume is 50 vehicles per day.

Both projects are part of the FARM Bridge Program. That program replaces bridges with weight restrictions, in poor condition, on timber pile, and are one-lane, but carry two-way traffic.

Concrete paving on Caldwell County Route 13 is anticipated to begin next Friday, July 7. The contractor will complete the project in three phases. The project has been delayed due to equipment issues and is now expected to be complete in December 2023.

During each phase, the roadway will be closed for a concrete overlay of the road and shoulders, guardrail replacement and placement of pavement markings. A detour is in place directing motorists on U.S. Route 36, Interstate 35, Route 116 and Route 13 around the closures. The contractor will maintain access for local traffic during each stage of construction, however, increased delays should be anticipated.

Crews plan to work weekdays during daylight hours. Stage 1 will take place through mid-August and will close Route 13 from Mill Creek Driver to Route P. Stage 2 will be from Route P to Far West Drive and runs from mid-August through late September. Stage 3 will run from late September through December and will run from Far West Drive north of Route HH in Kingston.
