MoDOT Announces Update On Route 13 Paving Project Schedule

The Missouri Department of Transportation says the repaving project for Route 13 in Caldwell County from Mill Creek Drive at the southern city limits of Hamilton to north of Route HH in Kingston is now expected to be completed by mid-December. The project is Stage One of 3 stages.

Several items of work remain including paving approaches and shoulders, embankment grading and replacement of at least four sections of concrete. Quality control testing takes place through the duration of projects to ensure materials and work meet project standards. Recent testing revealed these sections did not meet concrete strength requirements. Crews are currently working on removing and replacing these sections. Once all paving is complete, crews will grind the new pavement for smoothness and install pavement markings and signage.

Following completion of Stage One, work will shut down for the winter. Construction to complete Stage Two (Route P to Far West Drive) and Stage Three (Far West Drive to Kingston) will resume in the spring of 2024.

With the continued closure, a detour is in place directing motorists on U.S. Route 36, Interstate 35, Route 116 and Route 13 around the closures. The contractor will maintain access for local traffic; however, increased delays should be anticipated.
