The closure scheduled for a section of Holt County Route E has been extended through Thursday, May 8.
Contractors from Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are in the process of completing deck replacement projects for the I-29 bridges over Route E and Kimsey Creek, located south of Mound City.
For safety during the removal of the bridge deck on I-29, traffic has not been allowed on the section of Route E underneath the bridge since Monday, May 4.
The daily closures were scheduled to end Wednesday, May 6, but have been extended to include Thursday, May 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
During each closure, motorists must use an alternate route.
These bridges are included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.
