MoDOT Seeking Community Input on Upcoming Bridge Project

Plans are underway to replace the deck of a bridge on Interstate 29 near Craig.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is hosting both an online and phone-in public meeting to gather community feedback regarding the planned deck replacement of the I-29 bridge over U.S. Route 59 at Exit 92 (Craig).

During much of the construction of the new bridge deck, U.S. Route 59 under the bridge will be closed. I-29 will remain open as construction will be staged with traffic head-to-head in the open lanes.

The project is currently scheduled to be let for contractor bidding in October 2021 and would most likely be constructed during the 2022 construction season.

The online public meeting with information regarding the project timeline, plans and planned signed detour route can be found at modot.org.

A comment form at the bottom of the project webpage will be active through October 5 to gather comments, questions and signups for project-specific updates via email.

In addition to the project webpage, a MoDOT project expert will be available to answer questions and receive community feedback during two call-in sessions on Tuesday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday, October 1, from 4 to 6 p.m.

To participate in the phone-in public meeting, call 816-387-2411 and the project expert will be able to answer questions and record any input you may have.
