MoDOT Winter Weather Drill Begins Tomorrow

In preparation for the upcoming winter season, the Missouri Department of Transportation will hold its annual winter operations drill tomorrow and Thursday.

During the drill, MoDOT snow vehicles will travel state highways starting at 10 a.m. on both days.

Fighting winter storms to get Missouri roads clear is one of the most critical functions of MoDOT. With every storm, every available snowplow operator will work 12-hour shifts covering 24 hours until the major roads are mostly clear after a storm ends.

When winter storms are in the forecast, MoDOT will communicate advance traveler information.
