Monday Morning Accident Leaves Weatherby Man With Serious Injuries

A Weatherby man was left with serious injuries after a one-vehicle accident Monday morning in DeKalb County.
Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Weatherby resident Derik M. Buckles was driving a 2009 Dodge 1500 westbound on Route W in DeKalb County about three miles north of Maysville at 7:35 A.M. when he hit a patch of ice and the vehicle went off the north side of the highway.
Once off road the truck collided with the ditch and overturned onto its passenger side.
Buckles was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. He was taken by LifeNet to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
