More details are out about the fatal Sunday crash in Andrew County that resulted in the death of two area residents.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Route C, five miles north of Savannah, when a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Rosendale resident Andrew C. Schneider was heading southbound.

Troopers say Schneider traveled into the northbound lanes and struck an oncoming vehicle being driven by 69-year-old Rosendale resident Danny K. Donahoo.

Donahoo and a passenger, 68-year-old Diane L. Donahoo, both were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Andrew County Coroner Doug Johnson.

Schneider suffered moderate injuries and was treated and released from Mosaic.

Troopers say Schneider was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while both Diane and Danny Donahoo were not.

Following the crash, troopers arrested Schneider on one count of driving while intoxicated via alcohol involving the death of two or more people and a charge of carless and imprudent driving.

Schneider was booked into the Andrew County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
