Most COVID Lottery Entrants Immunized Before Program Started

Most of those who entered into the Missouri COVID lottery were already vaccinated before the program started. Data shows that just over 48 percent of Missouri’s total population is fully vaccinated, up from 40 percent when the lottery incentive program started.

The incentive program began in July in an effort to increase the number of vaccinations. In total, the state will pay out $9 million to 900 winners, who will each either receive $10,000 in cash or in scholarship accounts for youth winners.

Reports indicate just over 57,000 adults got the shot after the program was announced while nearly 600,000 got the shot prior. The program also had more than 39,000 entries from children.
