Mount Ayr Council Approves Sales Of City-Owned Properties
Mount Ayr’s Board of Aldermen approved two bids for the sale of city-owned properties during a meeting held Monday night
The council approved the bid of $3,500 submitted by Mark and Lisa Jackson for a property located at 206 East Jefferson Street. Their plans for the property include a garden and storage building.
Three bids were submitted for property located at 703 North Cleveland Street. The bid approved came from Rahim Martin who plans to construct a shop building.
Council members approved a 4 percent pay increase for the Recreation Director’s pay. They also approved the recommendations provided for Little League coaches.
Council members approved another year for recycling with Waste Management.
The council discussed a sewer backup situation at 1000 East Madison Street.
The city also discussed rezoning two properties located near commercial property areas in which the property owners wish to construct steel buildings.
