Mount Ayr Driver Hangs Upside Down in Vehicle For Several Hours Following Crash

RINGGOLD COUNTY, IA – The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash earlier this month in Mount Ayr spent several hours hanging upside down in his overturned Jeep before he was found.

According to the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office, 60-year old Ricky Hower of Mount Ayr was involved in a roll-over accident around 11 pm on December 5th on 180th street, one half mile east of Wishard Chapel.

A 911 call was made to authorities the following day of a driver trapped inside a vehicle. Hower was extracted from the Jeep and treated at the scene by EMS.

According to the release, Hower stated he was driving home the night before when he swerved to miss a deer and overturned the vehicle.
