Mozingo Creek Bridge Reopens Over The Weekend

A project to replace the Mozingo Creek Bridge is now complete.

Crews from Phillips Hardy, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, were able to reopen U.S. Route 136 at the Mozingo Creek Bridge this past Saturday, April 30.

The roadway had been closed since March 14.

Crews will now move east to the Long Branch Bridge between Liberty Road and Mahogany Road.

Mo-DOT says crews plan to begin that project today (Monday) and continue through August 2022.

Crews will work under staged construction, working on half of the bridge at a time.

The roadway will remain open, but drivers will narrow to one 11-foot lane.

Motorists will be directed through the one-lane work zone by temporary traffic signals.

Motorists should also expect delays.

The bridges, located east of Maryville, were last rehabilitated in 1940.
