MSHP Investigates Deer-Motorcycle Accident

A St Joseph motorcycle driver was seriously injured following an accident near Forest City on Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 18 year old Austin St Ama was driving on Highway 159 in Holt County and reported to the Patrol that a deer entered the roadway. He stated that he attempted to avoid the deer, but the motorcycle began skidding, and he lost control. The driver was eventually thrown from the motorcycle. Both the driver and the motorcycle went down an embankment. The vehicle had been moved prior to the trooper’s crash investigation. The driver had also left the scene with a private party for medical treatment prior to the arrival of the trooper. The driver was taken to Mosaic Life Care.

The accident was reported to the patrol at 12:45pm.
