Murder Charges Filed in Death of Ridgeway Man

BETHANY, MO – One Ridgeway man is dead and another is charged with his murder.

According to a Probable Cause Affidavit by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, 41-year old Travis Gilliland is alleged to have shot 50-year old Lynn Trammell, causing his death on Tuesday evening.

A press release issued by Harrison County Sheriff Trevor Place says officers were called to the 300 block of Locust Street in Ridgeway on Tuesday where they located the deceased victim with an apparent gunshot wound.  The crime scene was secured by deputies and an investigation was initiated by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control.

The probable cause affidavit filed with the court says Gilliland made the call to the Sheriff’s Office reporting the shooting.

Gilliland is charged with murder in the second degree and armed criminal action, alleged used a 20 gauge pump shotgun in the commission of the crime.  Bond is set at $250,000.
