Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the terrorist attack of 9/11 with several events beginning today.

More than 100 American flags have been placed on the campus and will remain on display through the weekend. The home opening football game tonight is Military Appreciation Night. Pregame ceremonies will include a flyover from the 139th Airlift Wing with a moment of silence to honor the victims of 9/11.

On Saturday, flags will fly at half-staff and the Marion Clock Tower will ring at 7:46 a.m.; 8:03 a.m.; 8:37 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., corresponding with the times the hijacked planes crashed. A time of quiet remembrance will be held during the first tolling of the bells.
