NCMC & Graceland University to Benefit from Nursing Education Grants

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Seven Missouri colleges and universities will benefit from grants to their nursing education program from the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

The Nursing Education Incentive Program grants were established in 2011 in order to increase the physical and educational capacity of professional nursing programs in Missouri.

Total grant awards this year are over $980,000.

Graceland University was awarded over $138,000 that will be used to establish a community partnership of the school with a local clinical partner to provide senior-level students with employment opportunities to work as care technicians, enhance staffing patterns, and to foster students in their preparation for practice.

North Central Missouri College was awarded over $145,000 in grant funds to enhance simulation lab resources with focus to foster clinical decision making and to increase nursing program retention.

Since the programs inception over $8 million has been granted to Missouri colleges for nursing education.
