New Federal Tool Shows where Missouri Lacks Broadband Access

The White House has unveiled a new mapping tool showing where broadband internet access improvements are needed across the country, including in Missouri.

The “Indicators of Broadband Need Map” shows most Missouri counties have at least 15% of their population without internet access and rural areas report even higher percentages. The Missouri Department of Economic Development says the state ranks 32nd in high-speed internet access.

More than 147-thousand Missouri households are unserved or underserved and nearly 400-thousand Missourians are without reliable internet access.
