New Sexual Assault Examination Room at Mosaic in St. Joseph Offers Safe Care

A new caring and safer feeling examination room at Mosaic has opened for victims of sexual assault.

Instead of a room full of people, this new exam room offers a warm blanket and messages of safety and affirmation. A shower is available to help make the victim more comfortable after a traumatic event.

The room is located in the emergency department for safety reasons, but the area is confidential with fewer people around. It is hoped that the area can be expanded to other crime victims as more expertise and nurses help provide care.
