New Transportation Plan Approved By State Highways And Transportation Commission
The Missouri State Transportation plan was presented to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Wednesday.
The STIP is the draft of the projects planned by the Missouri Department of Transportation over the next 5 years. The STIP will include $14 billion dollars from federal and state revenues for all modes of transportation over the next 5 years. From that $14 billion, an average of $2.1 billion will be spent each year for road and bridge construction. It also includes a record $3.4 billion in state General Revenue funded projects from the General Assembly subject to governor approval of the final budget.
The STIP also lists the transportation projects planned for each fiscal year from this July 1st to June 30th of 2028.
The review process for the STIP is now underway. Comments will be taken by MoDOT on the plan. The formal comment period continues until July 6th.
Following the public review period, the comments will be presented to the Commission. The Commission will review the comments and the final transportation program before considering it for approval at its July 12 meeting.
