Newtown-Harris Closed Tuesday to Honor Lifelong Tiger
NEWTOWN, MO- Newtown-Harris school will be closed on Tuesday in honor of a long-time Tiger and beloved member of the community.
Carolyn Reger passed away on Thursday. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday in Newtown.
Carolyn attended school in Newtown and was a star athlete during her playing days. She coached basketball and softball in the community and later attended Northeast Missouri State University, now Truman State University earning her Bachelor’s Degree in 1973.
A release from the school says Carolyn was a tireless supporter of the school and its students, always making sure the students’ needs were met.
Being a lifelong Tiger, Carolyn enjoyed attending local sporting events and cheering on her favorite teams.
Winter sports and activities will take place on Monday and Tuesday afternoon as scheduled and Tuesday’s previously scheduled MAP/EOC Incentive Reward Day will be postponed to a later date.
