North Harrison Board Approves Additional Pre-K For 2023-24

North Harrison School Board members decided to add a pre-K classroom for this fall following a presentation of the 3- and 4-year old pre-school projected enrollment during meeting their January meeting. Early Childhood Center Director Gena Gilpatrick and Elementary Principal Susan Allen presented the students projected for the 3- and 4-year old classrooms and the infant and toddler care numbers for the upcoming years. The additional pre-K classroom will be in effect for the fall of 2023.

Board members approved a bid from American Digital Security for the installation of an access management system which includes door contacts on all exterior doors and card readers at main entrances. It will also include cameras for student entrances. The system will be installed this summer.

The board approved a starting school date for next year of Monday, August 21st. The final day of the 2023-24 school year will be May 10th.

3 have signed up for the 3 open positions for the North Harrison School Board. An election will not be necessary. The registered candidates are Matt Graham, John Lueken, and Joe Bond.

Katelyn Briggs was selected as North Harrison’s candidate for the Missouri United School Insurance Council Scholarship.
