North Harrison Student’s Prototype Cookie Qualifies For National FCCLA Competition

A North Harrison student earned a gold medal in the Missouri State FCCLA STAR Events competition held recently. Students are judged on their proficiency of projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.

Katelyn Briggs showcased a prototype cookie in the Food Inovation Event. He duties included creating prototype cookie batches, testing and documenting information from focus groups, making a picture storyboard, calculating wholesale and retail costs, designing packages, researching shipping, and making nutrition labels. She also gave a 10 minute oral presentation.

She has qualified to represent North Harrison at the National FCCLA Star Event competition in Denver, Colorado in July.

North Harrison had 4 students attend the Missouri FCCLA Leadership Conference with 1,500 delegates from around Missouri.
