An incoming freshman at Savannah High School has followed her younger sister into the Sale of Champions. Payton Rodgers of the Kodiak Kadettes 4-H Club won the market barrow show Friday at the 118th Missouri State Fair with her 289-pound crossbred hog.

The victory comes one day after her sister Reagan repeated as exhibitor of the grand champion lamb. Payton says the two work well together.

While Payton Rodgers will make her first trip to the Missouri State Fair’s Sale of Champions, the exhibitor of the reserve grand champion will make his second trip there. Connor Keithley of Chillicothe FFA earned his spot with his 292-pound crossbred barrow.

Hog contests continue Sunday at the fair with swine showmanship, followed by breed shows Monday.
