NWMSU Announces Homecoming Week Schedule

Northwest Missouri State University announced the changes that will be made for Homecoming week activities because the COVID-19 pandemic and the suspension of fall sports competitions.

Northwest’s Homecoming week activities will be held October 4th through the 10th. The annual Homecoming Variety Show is canceled, and the M-Club Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been postponed until a later date.

The Homecoming parade will be streamed online and will be part of the Walkout Day activities on October 9th. The parade route will move through the Northwest campus beginning at 3pm. It will start at the corner of College Avenue and College Park Drive and then proceed north to Centennial Drive, south on University Drive, and then end at the Mabel Cook Recruitment and Visitors Center. The parade entries will be limited to student organizations and on-campus departments only.

The annual International Flag-Raising Ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Joyce and Harvey White International Plaza. Later, at 5 p.m. the Memorial Bell Tower will be the site for a Homecoming showcase event featuring performances by the Bearcat Marching Band and the Bearcat Steppers. Homecoming royalty and award winners also will be announced at that time.
