NWMSU Entering Partnership With National Geospatial Intelligence Agency
Northwest Missouri State University is one of three universities in the country that will partner with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to give student employment opportunities to receive training on map production techniques as part of the production of 236 1:50,000 scale topographic maps.
The NGA provides intelligence to policymakers, intelligence professionals, first responders and the Department of Defense with information regarding national security priorities. Topographic maps support combat missions, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and military training.
The opportunities will be available for students studying GIScience at Northwest.
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and Delta State University were also part of the partnership with the NGA.
