Odds of Passing Sports Betting Bill This Year Could Be Slim

Don’t bet on the Missouri Legislature passing a bill to legalize sports betting this year.

That’s the message from House Speaker Dean Plocher.

Warrensburg Republican State Senator Denny Hoskins has previously blocked sports betting bills because he says he wants to also regulate video lottery machines.

Since the legislature has not been successful, a group is considering whether to ask Missouri voters if sports gambling should be legalized.
