Offender Death At St. Joe Prison

Authorities with the Missouri Department of Corrections say an inmate at the Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in St. Joseph died Sunday night.

According to information released by the Department Monday, 32-year-old offender John Howe was pronounced dead at 7:20 P.M. Sunday night at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

Howe was a 32-year-old male serving three 3-year sentences for possession of a controlled substance from Cass County. He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on April 19, 2021.

The Department of Corrections says an Autopsy will be conducted.
