Officers Arrest Coffey Man on Domestic Assault, Child Abuse Charges
GALLATIN, MO – Formal charges have been filed against a Coffey man who is accused of multiple instances of child abuse lasting from May of 2021 to the current time.
An investigating officer with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office issued a probable cause statement alleging 33-year old Michael Holliday engaged in abusive behavior toward his spouse, biological child and four step-children while residing with them in Coffey. The children range in ages from two- to fifteen-years old.
The statement reports one victim reached out to a Children’s Division worker requesting help to escape the domestic violence. Children’s Division was able to get the victims into other living arrangements and law enforcement then became involved.
Holliday is charged with one count of domestic assault and five counts of child abuse. He is incarcerated in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail. Bond has been denied.
