Omaha Teen Hurt in Thursday Morning Accident

An accident early today (Thursday) in Buchanan County has left an Omaha teen with moderate injuries.

Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the unidentified 17-year-old Omaha resident was driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata northbound on Interstate 29 at the 46.4 mile marker at 6:03 A.M. today when he changed lanes but had to quickly change lanes again to avoid a slower vehicle.

At that point the driver overcorrected, losing control of the vehicle which went off the east side of the interstate and overturned, coming to rest on its top facing northwest.

The driver was reportedly wearing a seat belt but still suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.
