One Injured In 4-Vehicle Chain Reaction Accident

4 vehicles were involved in an accident on Interstate 29. One person was taken to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place just before 8am Monday morning. All 4 vehicles involved in the accident were heading northbound. One vehicle lost control on ice and two other vehicles then attempted to avoid striking that vehicle. Both lost control and hit a Peterbuilt truck. The truck also hit the back of another vehicle that it was following.

38 year old Charles Tripp of Stewartsville was passenger in one of the vehicles and received moderate injuries. Three of the vehicles received minor damage. The vehicle that Tripp occupied received moderate damage. Tripp was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. He is the only individual listed as injured according to the patrol’s report.

5 troopers reponded to the accident that took place 5 miles north of St Joseph.
