Open Enrollment Bill is Back in the Missouri Legislature

The Missouri Legislature will give an open enrollment bill another college try.

For the fourth consecutive year, Sedalia Representative Brad Pollitt is proposing to let K-12 public schools decide if they want to allow students from neighboring districts to enroll in their district.

Columbia Democratic Representative Kathy Steinhoff says she does not think the bill will allow all Missouri students to have a choice, such as students with disabilities and discipline records.

A House committee is considering Pollitt’s bill.
