Over Two Million Ballots Cast in Missouri Mid-Term General Election

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Unofficial totals show a turnout of just over two million registered voters casting a ballot in Missouri’s General Election on Tuesday.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft issued a statement thanking local election authorities, poll workers and voters for the first statewide election which implemented new election integrity measures. Changes to Missouri’s voting laws included two weeks of no-excuse in-person absentee voting and required voters to show a valid photo ID or cast a provisional ballot.

In the 2020 General Election just over three million voters cast ballots, however being a presidential election year those number trend higher. Two point four million votes were cast in the last mid-term General Election in 2018.

Local election authorities must transmit certified election results to the Secretary of State by November 22nd. The official results will be announced no later than December 13th.  Unofficial results can be found HERE.
