Parson Announces Executive Order For Missouri Foreign Purchases Of Agricultural Land
Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced an executive order dealing with the purchase of Missouri’s agricultural land.
Executive Order 24-01 bans individuals and businesses designated as foreign adversaries from purchasing agricultural land within a 10-mile radius of critical military facilities in Missouri.
He detailed the intent of the order.
The governor stated that he is limited for the scope of the executive order.
He also stated that he wants to keep the business relationships of friendly nations which greatly benefit the state.
Nations currently classified as foreign adversaries include China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Venezuela.
For the purposes of this order, “critical military facilities” refers to all staffed military facilities in Missouri. The order does not affect existing landowners.
